Time to Dine Michigan!
Dine Michigan is based out of Lansing, the Capitol of Michigan and was formed from the love of the dining opportunities which exist all across the great state on Michigan. Whether it’s a small mom and pop restaurant in Newberry or one of the finest restaurants in the country located in the heart of Detroit, we are here to give you our opinions based first the opinions of our followers and verified by our writers.
Dine Michigan uses multiple forms of media to get the message out on Michigan’s best restaurants. WWW.DINEMICHIGAN.COM is our primary outlet. Our website is supplemented by other internet social media options like twitter (DineMichigan), Facebook (DineMI) and many other sites. We also link our content to other sites which cross content. For example you will find our writings on sites like Pure Michigan. If we go to a winery with great food then we may talk about the wine and share it with a great Michigan wine site like Michigan by the Bottle. This happens with breweries, tours and many other ideas as well. Next, you will see Dine Michigan on billboards and brochures. Our goal is to present Michiganders and our guests from outside the state with all the great dining opportunities and to make them easy to find. That is a big task and one which will never be complete. This makes for an enticing site with very dynamic content. If you follow us as a blog you will enjoy how we go from talking about a coney to the next review about lobster or Thai food. Two things to watch for is our interactive map and mobile phone app which are coming soon.
Writers, Editors and Diners
Who are our writers? We started out with one individual who had a passion to share with his friends and family the great dining opportunities across Michigan which many didn’t know existed, even when they are right around the corner. Now we have recruited writers across the state and have editors to make sure we cover the state and give you the information on the location you need. Dine Michigan is made from food lovers of different tastes. We recognize not everyone’s palate is not the same. This is why each restaurant we write about is usually recommended first. Let’s look at our protocol.
- Our writers have eaten in the restaurants. This means our content is always original.
- All reviews are based on multiple dining experiences with a restaurant, and at a minimum one done anonymously.
- We focus on the best in the area. This means if we put up a review on pizza in a location and later find a better choice we reserve the right to at our discretion remove any review.
- This world is full of negativity and you will find NONE of it here! If we don’t like something or someplace then you will not hear about it. We also know everything is not always perfect. If we hear of an issue with a restaurant we recommend we will deal with it.
- This site is a Michigan site therefore we will give special attention to those restaurants using home grown Michigan products.
- We also are very into our environment and our health. We watch for restaurants not using the best choices for our health or those not doing what’s best for the environment.
- We receive NO pressure from restaurants. We love their input because we could miss things and want to represent all restaurants as best as possible. This being said all restaurants are told we write all articles and will not make changes if we don’t feel it’s in the best interest of the future dining public.
- Yes, we receive free meals from many restaurants. These meals are mainly so that the restaurant may give us tastes of many of their signature dishes. It is not possible to hit all the specialties when dining a time or two anonymously. However, any restaurant providing us with free tastes understands upfront this does not make us liable to write about them or about any certain item or their menu.
- What about restaurants on brochures. These restaurants are chosen by us. The restaurant will help with cost but only at our request and with no current or future promises on content to any of our media.
- We will promote on our events link any food focused or related events which we feel are in the best interest of our media, readers and State.
- Contest prizes and promotions are usually donated items as well and these also carry no weight as to current or future content. Just the opposite we often ask for these things to help promote and event, restaurant or individual dish or item.

Advertisers, Sponsors, Co-promoters and Suppliers
Much of this has been covered but we’d like to make it very clear! Anything provided, given, donated or offered has no effect on the content of an article or any other type of recommendation we make. Yes, a restaurant asking us to try their location may introduce us to a place which otherwise may not be on the site but we still do our research. We love asking the locals about the restaurant. We get the good, bad and yes sometimes the ugly that way! If you are looking to introduce us to your restaurant, make a prize or other donation, buy an ad spot on our site, brochure or other media here is your personal email because you are very important to us! dave@dinemichigan.com
Website owners we love to chat with you and are always looking to cross promote and work together to help each other and to add to the tourism industry in Michigan. Please email us at dave@dinemichigan.com .
